It’s Not About You – Conference Program

I chose a bold, distressed typeface paired with a provocative, confrontational headline to stand out from the typically mundane materials handed out at similar events. Black and white printing on inexpensive parchment stock helped create a more premium experience by paying attention to detail and aesthetics that would normally be overlooked. Value was added through the non-traditional format rather than materials and printing.

I designed the program to be printed 2-up on a standard 8.5×11 sheet. A youth-friendly pocket sized approach made it feel more relevant and more likely to be utilized rather than quickly becoming litter. I wanted the youth to feel like there was special effort being made for them when their activities at a religious conference are often treated as an afterthought. The tent fold allowed the programs to be set on tabletops like place holders.
